The sea has always been a dangerous workplace. This acknowledgement has been a driving force in our work with developing vessels and equipment for increased safety on board.

Since the start in 1929, Eidsvik Skipsbyggeri has focussed on safety and development of user-friendly vessels. In close co-operation with crew, owners and naval architects, the yard has over the years produced fishing vessels, which have contributed to the developement of the modern fleet.

During the period from 1929 up to 1956, the yard built small and medium sized wooden vessels and carried out repairs. From 1956 the yard started the construction and outfitting of steel vessels. Our long experience has provided us with solid expertise in equipping and repairing of fishing vessels from 35 to 75 meters in length.

Eidsvik Skipsbyggeri is located in Kvinnherad Muinicipality, furthest out in the Hardangerfjord. This is a district with proud boatbuilding traditions right back to the Middle Ages, and close connections to the fishing grounds in the North Sea.
